Ever been smacked in the face by a workload? I have!

I arrived last night after two different traffic jams just shy of 9:00pm. I was unpacking my car, dreading the relatively simple paper that was going to keep me up for a while, and chatting with the roommates when Mike mentioned the book he had been reading over the break.

I said to myself, "Self, Mike is a very busy guy, and I believe that's a colloquium book...why would he be reading that a week in advance?" To which I replied, "Holy crap Self! We are supposed to have our next colloquium book read by Monday!" So I have a 300 page book, which I don't own yet, that is to be read by 7:00pm. Huzzah.

Aside from that, the break was good. I went home with every intention of being productive, as usual. Except this time, I produced relaxation. I did exceptionally little in the way of work. I chilled with my wonderful lady, had a 21st birthday for myself, and enjoyed the company of my awesome friends for about a week. I can only hope that no one felt ignored.

It's a great problem to have, not being able to get to everyone who you want to see. I really hoped to visit with Liz, and Misty, and Flippo, and even Katie, but no time, particularly on Saturday while I did laundry alllll day. Hopefully this summer I can meet up with everyone.

As for this summer, I hope I have found where I'll be working. I'll be in Tulsa, and I'm trying to get a wait staff job at "Flavors." It's a pretty classy place, and I really enjoyed dinner there the other night. It is now my first choice for income for the summer.

I also filed my taxes for the first time this break, and I'm pretty sure this will be the only time in my life that I like to file taxes. It took a total of about 20 minutes and I got over $500 back. Silly IRS, take money away all summer only to give it back the next spring. Works for me though, as that money would be long gone by now if the IRS hadn't held on to it for me!

Anyway, this has been incredibly random...but I'm just trying to catch up. I promise more coherency in the future.
