I don't particularly mind. I didn't have any plans for Saturday or Sunday, and I was going to chill, and write, and work on my Voronezh guide, and think about having a Thanksgiving dinner...maybe...
Now, tomorrow at 1:30 I'm going on an excursion to one of the oldest monistaries in Russia. Then, after that, I'm grabbing a couple of other students and we're going to this pizzaria we heard about, and after that, we're picking up Nadia and going to a club that she likes. More Russian than the Flamingo. It'll be fun. Not tooooo excited about the exursion, but it'll be okay.
So the news: I am James Bond.
I was supposed to teach today, instead, I was one of like 30 students invited to this huge freaking celebration for the 85th anniversary of my University. I didn't expect it to be that big of a deal...but...I was on TV...again. Then, I chatted with the Governor! for a while, and the soon to be mayor-elect of Voronezh. It was pretty rockin. The actual celebration though, relatively boring.
BUT! Before that, Kristin and I found a freaking supermarket! MILK! In a BOTTLE! Awesome. They have a ton of stuff and I'm considering doing a small thanksgiving dinner. We'll see. I'm not a big fan of stress particularly considering that a.) I'm not certain of my thanksgiving cooking skills b.) I have no idea what's in Golina's kitchen c.) It's not a holiday here and I'd have to slap it together. I think Kristin really wants me to cook, but I don't know...
So, I should get going, busy day tomorrow. David Karner is the man.
