I'm a huge and happy nerd.

Yesterday was odd.

There were good things, the "confidential" stuff I couldn't talk about a few entries ago - but I'll let it spill now.

Yesterday 61 students in Baylor University were conferred honors for outstanding academic achievement. The vast majority of those students were seniors, however a few juniors were honored. Some of the most outstanding faculty in the United States conferred on me the honor of "Outstanding Academic Achievement" AND "Outstanding Research!" I was thrilled. It was a very nice ceremony (Except for the speakers: President, Provost, Dean...) and the snacks afterwards were also great.

At that ceremoney, Baylor gave the inaugural award for a new Excellence in Teaching award to Dr. Tom Hanks. In his acceptance speech, he said, "Really, my 'excellence' comes from standing in front of a room full of NAME 1, NAME 2, and Jordan LaBouff's, and hundreds of others of you, and saying 'eah..mmm...' They get embarrased for me and fill in the blanks and I am BRILLIANT!" His outlook towards education has always inspired me, and I was awed that he mentioned me. Though, I did talk to him for a while before the speech, so I primed him.

Anyway, I'll leave this entry at just bragging at the honors I recieved. I am proud, and now I go to pay attention in my class!
