I have this funky feeling, you know. It's like I have the secondary effects of a headache, but not the primary. I'm a little dizzy, my vision is a little blurry, I'm kinda mopy...wish I knew what was up, just started about 2 hours ago.
So, the news. Tomorrow is my last national holiday before I come home, and a national holiday that I have wanted to experience for some years. That's right ladies and gents, it's "Den Revolutsee!" The anniversary of the October Revolution of 1917. Yes, I know it's November, but Russia wasn't on the Julian Callendar yet in 1917...so it was October for them.
I was really looking forward to a nice long sleep and a late night working on Flash tonight, but! There's a big communist party rally at Lenin square tomorrow at 10. How often do you get to experience a Communist rally on Revolution Day under a giant statue of Lenin? Not very I tell you. I'm pretty excited.
Tomorrow is another holiday I recently found out. And by recently I mean about two hours ago. Tomorrow is Golina Nicolaevna's 70th Birthday. For those not in-the-know, Golina Nicolaevna is the "mother" of my family here. So, there's going to be like a billion people at the apartment tomorrow starting at 3:00. Russians eat for years. In a way I'm looking forward to it. The thing I'm not looking forward to is that my room is the biggest room in the house, and thus, that's where the dinner table will be. Not excited. I'm a big fan of sanctuary, and for tomorrow, I don't have one. I'll have to move all of my stuff and move my shrine to LaRae and all kinda stuff. Kinda irritated, but it's a birthday, what can ya do?
I'd like to buy her something, but I have such short notice. I'd go tomorrow, but it's a huge holiday and everything will be closed...except bars. So, I'll just give my room for the day, how fun.
On a relatively important note, one of the things that might be closed or that I can't get to may be the Internet Cafe, which, will suck. But I may not be able to post tomorrow (or send e-mails.) But I'll be back as soon as possible.
